With the college football season only a few weeks away, it is time to name the 5 most intriguing players coming into the season. Some of these players might already be getting some NFL draft hype for next year, and some just burst onto the scene last year.
Bryce Young
Young is likely to be the #1 pick in next year’s draft. After what Young did last year, it is very hard to argue that he wouldn’t go #1. After winning the Heisman and leading Alabama to the national title game, he is likely to have another outstanding year. He will be in Heisman contention again and Alabama will make another run.
Spencer Rattler
Rattler had a great 2020 season. Last year, Rattler’s skills declined and the coach benched him. Before the season started pundits expected to go high in the 2023 draft. Rattler can improve his game from last year. It is hard to get benched and then expect to be great again the next year.
CJ Stroud
If Bryce Young does not go #1, CJ Stroud most definitely will. After sitting his freshman season, he burst onto the scene as a sophomore in 2021. Ohio State should have another prolific offense due to CJ Stroud. Stroud will be in Heisman contention when the season ends. Ohio State is extra motivated for next season after barely missing out on the College Football Playoff last season.
Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams came in relief for Spencer Rattler midseason last year and had some great moments. After throwing for 21 touchdowns and 4 interceptions in the games he played, he will do well. He left Oklahoma to follow Lincoln Riley at USC. If Riley can coach him up like he did at Oklahoma, expect a big year from Rattler.
Bijan Robinson
Robinson was one of the more electric RBs in college football last year. An elbow injury ultimately derailed his season, and he could not finish the last few games. Despite missing some games, Robinson still had 1,396 scrimmage yards with 15 total touchdowns. Robinson should be able to have another great season if he is fully healthy.
