The 2022 Fantasy Football season has ended. However, there is another way to play other than Redraft known as Dynasty. In Dynasty, you keep the team you drafted until they retire, or you choose to let them go. In this format both performance and longevity are considered. With that in mind, these are my 5 Best Dynasty Players at Quarterback.
1. Patrick Mahomes
At only 27 years old, he is a dominant force for fantasy football. 2022 showed that Mahomes is able to be incredible in the NFL and for Fantasy Football, even without Top Tier Wide Receivers. Patrick will be dominant for many years.
2. Josh Allen
Allen has finished as a Top 2 Fantasy QB three years in a row. He is the centerpiece of the Buffalo Bills offense. His rushing ability and utilization make him such a phenomenal asset in Fantasy. Josh Allen is 26 years old, and the only reason he’s behind Mahomes is because of the longevity risk. The rushing is what makes him so good, but also provides the questions.
3. Jalen Hurts
Jalen has proven himself in 2022. Like Josh Allen, he has an amazing rushing upside to his game providing him with a safe floor every week. Rushing QB’s are a greater longevity risk, but have such high upside that it’s worth it. At 24 years old Jalen has plenty of room to improve, as well as amazing young Wide Receivers around him.
4. Joe Burrow
Burrow is 26 years old. He is also surrounded by talented young Wide Receivers. Although you may see him running around a lot, trying not to be sacked, he is a not considered a rushing QB. Joe was a Top 5 QB for Fantasy this year, showing steady improvement behind an offensive line that seemed less than the sum of its parts. Overall, Burrow is a great QB to build your Dynasty roster around.
5. Justin Herbert
24 year old Justin Herbert has shown elite Fantasy production. However, in 2022 his Fantasy production regressed without his main Wide Receivers. Injuries plagued the LA Chargers this year, affecting Herbert and his teammates. I believe that Justin can return to his previous dominance and be a Dynasty asset for years.
Honorable Mentions:
Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence is only 23 years old showing incredible improvement. If his improvement extends into 2023, he could find himself on the list next year.
Lamar Jackson
26 year old Lamar Jackson is an unstoppable rusher. However, he is an example of why people have concerns about the longevity of rushing QBs.
