The San Francisco 49ers started their NFC title defense with a dominant win over the New York Jets, a team hoping to compete in the AFC. A 32-19 victory spoiled Rodgers’ return to the field and Brock Purdy had a very efficient evening going 19-29 for 231 yards.
However, San Francisco won’t stop thinking about the future, and one move could solidify a weapon for Purdy for the foreseeable future.
49ers Pegged To Land 6’5″ Monster For Brock Purdy
Based on CBS Sports’ projection, the 49ers will select Terrance Ferguson in the first round of the 2025 draft. Ferguson is a 6-foot-5 pass-catcher from Oregon.
It would be interesting to see what he would do. It is clear that Ferguson is among the best tight ends in the country, but Pro Football Focus ranks him 100th overall, and third among tight ends:

Ferguson has an NFL frame and should be in for a sizable season at Oregon as a pass catcher.
Would San Francisco be interested in adding yet another weapon to their offense with a first round draft pick?
George Kittle is 30-years-old and may only have a few years left in the league. Getting his replacement in house to mold the next great tight end for the franchise could be a very smart move.
