The San Francisco 49ers have been working on extending their players before the 2023 free agency begins. One 49ers offensive lineman has been extended to a two-year deal. The offensive lineman extended is Colton McKivitz, and here is some information on the extension.

49ers Offensive Lineman Extended
The San Francisco 49ers have extended offensive lineman, Colton McKivitz to a two-year deal. The news was reported by the team on Twitter, which can be read here. McKivitz was drafted by the team in 2020 in the fifth round of the NFL draft. This extension will keep the 49ers offensive lineman under contract through the 2024 season.
As things stand, McKivitz could become the starting right tackle for the 49ers in the 2023 season. The most recent player in that position was Mike McGlinchey, who will most likely be leaving the team in free agency this year. McKivitz was set to be a restricted free agent but was able to get an extension before having to go through the tender process. This will also save some room on the cap space, though the full details of the extension have not been announced yet.

Free agency begins next week, and expect more 49ers offensive lineman to potentially get an extension beforehand.
