The San Francisco 49ers are on their way to the NFC Championship game. The defeated the Dallas Cowboys 19-12 on Sunday night in the NFC divisional round. The win did not come easily, however, nor was it without cost. Running backs Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell both sustained injuries during the game. On Monday, head coach Kyle Shanahan provided an update on both, and whether or not he expects them to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship.

The 49ers Will Have Both Running Backs for the NFC Championship

In a media session today, Coach Shanahan provided positive and optimistic updates on his star running back duo:

49ers RBs Christian McCaffrey (calf bruise) and Elijah Mitchell (groin) are both "day to day", per coach Kyle Shanahan, but he said he expects to get both back for the NFC championship game on Sunday in Philadelphia.

Moore finished Sunday’s game with 14 carries 51 yards. McCaffrey had 10 carries for 35 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, McCaffrey had six receptions for 22 yards.
