The San Francisco 49ers’ final roster cuts are looming! Teams around the NFL need to reduce their roster to the league minimum of 53 players. These are the 49ers’ final 53-man roster projections.
Backs
The quarterbacks that will make the 49ers’ Final Roster are Trey Lance, Nate Sudfeld, and Jimmy Garoppolo. Don’t be surprised if Garoppolo is on the 49ers’ Final Roster on Tuesday. NFL Insider for Pro Football Talk, Mike Florio tweeted that 49ers owner Jed York hinted towards the team keeping Garoppolo on the final 53-man roster.
The running backs and fullbacks that will make the 49ers’ final roster are Elijah Mitchell, Jeff Wilson Jr., Kyle Juszczyk, Trey Sermon, Ty Davis-Price and Jordan Mason. They have a deep and talented group that will lead them to success.
Skill Positions
The wide receivers that will make the final roster are Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Juan Jennings, Danny Gray, Malik Turner, and Ray Ray McCloud. Look for the 49ers to carry six wide receivers this season. Look for Samuel, Aiyuk and rookie Danny Grey to have to break out seasons.
The tight ends that will make the final roster are George Kittle, Charlie Woerner, and Ross Dwelley and Tyler Kroft. Led by the best overall tight end in the NFL, Kittle, the 49ers love to run 21, one tight end on the field, and 22 personal, two tight ends on the field, as their primary formation while trying to run the ball. However, all three tight ends can make plays and block at a higher level.
49ers Final Roster: Offensive Line
The final roster will keep nine offensive linemen. The offensive line, led by star left tackle Trent Williams, will consist of Williams, Aaron Banks, Jake Brendel, Spencer Burford, Daniel Brunskill, Jason Poe, Mike McGlinchey, Jaylon Moore, and Colton McKivits. The offensive line is a significant question mark for the entire organization. The unit’s play will determine if San Francisco is a Super Bowl contender or a fringe playoff team.
49ers Final Roster: Defensive Line
The strength of the 49ers is the defensive line. The 49ers rely on their talent and depth on the defensive line, led by Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead. The roster will consist of Bosa and Armstead, alongside Javon Kinlaw, Charles Ominheu, Samson Ebukam, Kevin Givens, Hassan Ridgeway, Drake Jackson, Kerry Hyder Jr., and Jordan Willis.
49ers Final Roster Linebackers & Secondary
What is known as the best linebacking core in the NFL, led by All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner, the 49ers linebackers are loaded with speed and talent. They will carry Warner, Dre Greenlaw, Aziz Al-Shaair, Oren Burks and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles. The starting linebacker can be as great as former legendary linebackers backers, ala Patrick Willis and Novarro Bowman.
One of the central questions heading into the season, the 49ers’ Secondary has gotten more profound and more athletic overnight. They will carry Charvarous Ward, Emmanuel Moseley, Samuel Womack III, Talanoa Hufanga, Demmodore Lenior, Tarvarius Moore, and Ambry Thomas. Safety Jimmie Ward will start the year on injured reserve and try to return in week four.
Special Teams
The 49ers will carry one long snapper, Taybor Pepper, one kicker, Robbie Gould, and one punter, Mitch Wishnowsky.
