The San Francisco 49ers can’t seem to catch a break this season. Now, as they are down big to the Buffalo Bills on the road, there is more devastating news.
49ers Announce Season-Altering News During Bills Matchup (Breaking)
Christian McCaffrey left Sunday night’s game versus the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury, according to the 49ers.
As soon as he was handed the ball, the 28-year-old gave himself up ending the play. He then was seen running to the sideline and was later taken to the locker room:
McCaffrey has been downgraded to out with the knee injury he suffered in the first half.
McCaffrey exited the contest in the second quarter after he took a pitch to the right, took a few slow steps, and slid down to give himself up. He was examined in the sideline tent before heading up to the locker room for further examination.
He had rushed for 53 yards on seven carries and caught two passes for 14 yards before exiting.
McCaffrey missed the first eight games of the season with bilateral Achilles tendinitis.
Multiple videos show a concerning non-contact injury that could be his Achilles. Time will tell in the coming week how severe it is.
