The College Football Season is getting closer. With 48 days left until BYU kickoffs against South Florida let’s get to know some players on the roster for this upcoming season. This will give fans an idea of where these players have come from and what they could do for the cougars this season. I will do one every day there is a player with that number.
Alex Muti
Today is Defensive lineman Alex Muti 6-3 235 lbs redshirt sophomore. Muti is from Hawaii and last year as a freshman came to play for the Cougars. He missed last year as a medical redshirt due to injury. When he signed with the Cougars he talked about being blessed to have earned the offer from Coach Lamb saying his island doesn’t get much interest from division one teams. Muti mentioned that they usually go and look at the other islands so he is happy that BYU came to his island to watch him play and give him this offer. He can’t wait to play a game in a cougar uniform.
Before coming to BYU Alex Muti was an All-State player (2018 and 2019), was defensive player of the year as a junior, and played in the Polynesian bowl. In 2019 he had 51 tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss, and 7 tackles in his senior year of high school. Muti signed in 2020 with the cougars fulfilling his lifelong dream of playing for BYU. Grew up a BYU fan his grandma had season tickets for over 25 years. Muti loves to go hiking and hunting with friends in his free time.
He may see some time as a back for the Cougars this season with all the talent at defensive lineman. Muti will be great if he does come in if someone gets injured. In future seasons he may play more and more as some of the older guys graduate and move on.

Great Read.
How many Football programs have a Hawai’i rainbow Hunter who lives on the Big Island where there is a lot of rugged, steep, volcanic, tropical Ground to cover?
If I had the means to visit, The big Island, with all the active volcanoes, all the year round Hawai’ian Agribusinesses mixed with it’s share of hospitality / tourist Destinations sounds like an eclectic vibrant mix to me!
