The Ohio State Buckeyes fans left the Oregon Ducks clash less than satisfied with both the team and their opponent.
The Buckeyes lost after quarterback Will Howard slid down in a Hail Mary situation and was unable to stop the clock. Howard had a great game up until he made an unfortunate mistakes that perhaps cost the Buckeyes the game. However, there were plenty of other opportunities for the Ohio State Buckeyes to win the game previous to that point.
What really perplexed Ohio State Buckeyes fans and college football fans was the intentional 12-men on the field penalty that Oregon prepared for. Following the game, Ducks coach Dan Lanning was asked whether or not he intentionally left 12-men on the field to take time off of the clock. Lanning did not outright say it was clearly intentional, but alluded to the fact that he had prepared the team for situations like the one they were in.
Dan Lanning’s full answer below on if the 12 men on the field penalty vs. Ohio State was intentional.
To sum it up, it sure seems the answer is, “Yes.” pic.twitter.com/BtmoqxTEIn

Many fans have pointed out the fact that the Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Howard could have figured out what was happening. Had Howard snuffed out the intentional penalty, the quarterback could have made something happen to change the tide of the finale. However, Howard was not able to do so as he could not get rid of the football fast enough.
Man if Will Howard just sees what’s happening here and spikes it, Ohio State gets a total freebie 5 yards in 1 second. This is a WAY bigger risk than when Buddy Ryan would do it on the goal line, because half-the-distance means nothing there. Crazy call by Oregon (complimentary) https://t.co/s0gJIyCKjb

While the play had worked out for Lanning and the Oregon Ducks, it also presented great risk given the area on the field they were in. The Ohio State Buckeyes could have broken a massive play and scored a touchdown the next play with the distance gained from the penalty.
Ohio State Buckeyes Move Onto Nebraska Cornhuskers Following Narrow Ducks Loss
Despite the loss, time continues to move and the Ohio State Buckeyes must prepare for the next challenge against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The last time the Ohio State Buckeyes played Nebraska, the Buckeyes walked away with a 26-17 win over a tough home team. This time around, Nebraska will travel to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes in a game that could make or break the Cornhuskers this season. Before the Cornhuskers travel to Ohio, they must first face the #16 Indiana Hoosiers in a rather difficult warm-up game.
Indiana has been one of the hotter teams in the country currently, but has been largely untested and will have a serious test in Nebraska. Following the game, the Ohio State Buckeyes should play against a tired, depleted time after having plenty of time off.
