The College Football Season is getting closer. With 31 days left until BYU kickoffs against South Florida let’s get to know some players on the roster for this upcoming season. This will give fans an idea of where these players have come from and what they could do for the cougars this season. I will do one every day there is a player with that number.
Max Tooley
Today is Max Tooley junior linebacker 6-2 215 lbs. Started at BYU in 2018 Tooley has played a big role on defense in the last few years. Before coming to BYU he played for Bountiful high school and served his LDS mission in London. While playing for Bountiful he was named to the All-USA Utah Football first team on defense. The Deseret News Class 4A All-State Football Team. He also helped his team to the quarterfinals.
In 2018 he redshirted playing in four games and had two tackles. In Tooley’s first full season he had 48 tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup. In the last two seasons, he has had 112 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, and four pass breakups.
Last season he played in 12 games starting in six. Finished as the second leading tackler on the team with 68 tackles, one sack, and one interception. Led BYU in tackles against UAB with 10 tackles. Tooley had an interception against Arizona State that led to a Cougars touchdown late in the game.

Max Tooley is listed as a second string under Chaz Ah You. Tooley is ready to have another big season for the Cougars and continue to do what he has done the last 3 seasons.
