Week 2 in fantasy football is fast approaching. The turn around from Monday night games to the Thursday night game means quick decisions need to be made for week 2. If you started 0-1, (like me) you are feeling the pressure to pick up a win. Here are 3 players to start in fantasy football in week 2.
Mike Williams LAC WR
The Thursday night game is a marquee matchup. Chargers versus Chiefs is a matchup that all football fans are ready for. Even though both teams have improved defenses, I expect this game to be a little bit of a shootout. Keenan Allen looks to be out for this game as he left week 1 with an injury. This means that Mike Williams will be WR1 in the Chargers offense. Don’t be afraid to start him in fantasy in week 2.
Washington Commanders Receivers
Okay so this one isn’t a player as much as a unit. The Commanders play the Lions this week. This unit gave up 38 points to the Eagles in week 1. Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson are all players I would start this week. Even with first round pick Aiden Hutchinson, the Lions defense still looks as if they are going to have trouble stopping offenses. Even with the ball being spread around, each of these players had a decent week 1. I’d lean to starting Curtis Samuel as he saw a lion share of the targets (11) in week 1 but you can’t go wrong with either of them.
Darrell Henderson LAR RB
Henderson played 82% of the snaps on Thursday night. There has been no indication that Cam Akers will cut into that. He didn’t have an amazing stat line but one that scored about 12 fantasy points depending on your format. He is also going up against the Falcons, a team that gave up a bunch of yards to Taysom Hill. I like Hill but he should not be putting up the kind of stat line he did in week 1 on the ground. If you are looking for a good flex or RB2, I would start Henderson in fantasy in week 2.
Overall, I think there are a lot of favorable matchups in week 2. Defenses are still getting their communication down and that means offenses have more big play opportunities. As always, go with your gut and commit to it. Good luck to all in week 2!
