The College Football Season is getting closer. With 22 days left until BYU kickoffs against South Florida let’s get to know some players on the roster for this upcoming season. This will give fans an idea of where these players have come from and what they could do for the cougars this season. I will do one every day there is a player with that number.
Mason Fakahua
Today is Mason Fakahua sophomore running back 6-2 225 lbs. Joined the team in 2020 and has only played in nine games as a Cougar and doesn’t have any stats. Fakahua is not listed on the depth chart for this upcoming season. Came to BYU as a quarterback and switched to running back after his first year. Fakahua played for Cedar City High School as a quarterback he had 3,909 yards for 26 touchdowns and six interceptions. As a running back he had 216 carries for 2,077 yards and five touchdowns. Fakahua also played basketball and track in high school.
Ammon Hannemann
Today is Ammon Hannemann sophomore defensive back 6-1 200 lbs. Before coming to BYU Hannemann played for Lone Peak High School. He then served his two-year LDS mission in California. Hannemann joined BYU in 2019 and redshirted that season. In 2020 he didn’t play. Last season he played in 10 games and started four. He had 34 tackles, one quarterback hit, and one pass breakup. Little brother of Micah Hannemann who played from 2015-2017 for the Cougars.
