    21 Days till Kickoff for BYU

    The College Football Season is getting closer. With 21 days left until BYU kickoffs against South Florida let’s get to know some players on the roster for this upcoming season. This will give fans an idea of where these players have come from and what they could do for the cougars this season. I will do one every day there is a player with that number.

    Jackson McChesney

    Today is Jackson McChesney sophomore running back 6-0 215 lbs. Before coming to BYU in 2019 he played for Lone Peak High School. Lead Lone Peak to back-to-back 5A Championship games. McChesney served his mission in Chile. Also recruited by Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Utah, and Washington. He redshirted in 2019 and set the freshman single-game record with 228 yards against UMass. In 2020 he played in one game before getting injured he had 11 attempts for 56 yards with a touchdown. Last season he played in five games and had 64 yards and one touchdown.

    Dean Jones

    Today is Dean Jones freshman defensive back 6-2 195 lbs. Before coming to BYU he played for American Leadership Academy in Spanish Fork. As a senior, he had 70 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one interception. In 2019 he helped ALA to a 13-1 record and the 3A state title. He was also recruited by Arizona State, Cal Poly, Hawaii, Northern Arizona, Redland, San Diego State, Utah, Utah State, UTEP, Weber State, and Wyoming. Last season he was a member of the scout team.
