It was a tough NFL Draft weekend for the Sanders family. Both Shilo and Shedeur Sanders fell much further than expected, leading to major changes, including Shilo firing his father, Deion Sanders, as his representative.
Leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, Shilo and Shedeur relied heavily on their father for guidance instead of hiring traditional NFL agents. Deion, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and current head coach at Colorado, agreed to help guide his sons through the draft process. Shilo found it was time for a change after sliding unexpectedly down the draft.

Shilo Sanders’ Big Move
Shilo Sanders joked on Saturday during a Twitch stream that “Dad was our agent, but that hasn’t been working out too good. Therefore, today I have had to sign with an agent.” But many first thought that Shilo was joking, before later that night, powerhouse agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed that Shilo had signed with him officially.
Undrafted and not much to lose, Shilo Sanders found a new team in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, signing shortly after the draft ended. It was ironic that Deion himself announced Shilo’s deal with Tampa Bay via Twitch stream, most likely before the agent switch had been finalized.
Even with a solid college career with South Carolina and Colorado, compiling 170 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception, Shilo still went undrafted. Helped along by his strong play at Colorado under his father’s coaching, he never got picked in any of the seven rounds.

Shedeur Sanders also had an unexpected draft fall. Before Thursday night, Shedeur had been regarded as a potential first-round pick, but slid to the fifth round after the Cleveland Browns drafted him in the fifth round, one of the more surprising storylines of the 2025 draft.
With Drew Rosenhaus now representing Shilo Sanders, the young safety will look to make the most of his opportunity in Tampa Bay and prove that he belongs in the NFL. The switch to one of football’s most powerful agents signals that Shilo is serious about taking his professional career into his own hands.
