After the presumptive first offensive tackle off the board in LSU’s Will Campbell, who’s the second-best protector in the 2025 NFL Draft?
LSU’s Will Campbell is one of the cleanest offensive tackles in recent memory. The perfect blend of size, athleticism, and technical talent, barring injury or a surprise return to Baton Rouge following 2024, Campbell will be the first offensive tackle off the board come next April.
After Campbell, will it be Texas’ Kelvin Banks Jr., Campbell’s LSU teammate, Emory Jones Jr., or will someone elevate their game in 2024?
2025 NFL Draft Pre-Season Offensive Tackle Rankings
- Will Campbell (LSU) — There’s not much to say about Will Campbell. There’s no flaws in his game and barring injury or a return to the Tigers in 2025, LSU’s left tackle will likely be the first tackle off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft.
- Kelvin Banks Jr. (Texas) — If it weren’t for Will Campbell, Kelvin Banks Jr. could very well find himself as the top tackle prospect in the draft. Banks’ consistent play and versatility to play both on the left and on the right makes him the perfect candidate to be the second tackle off the board.
- Emory Jones Jr. (LSU) — With his teammate Will Campbell taking most of the headlines, Emory Jones Jr. isn’t to be forgotten about. Standing at 6’6, and a staggering 330-pounds, Emory Jones is slightly bigger than the massive Campbell, and he’s not far behind in pure talent.
- Josh Conerly Jr. (Oregon) — Much like LSU’s pairing of Will Campbell and Emory Jones, Oregon boasts a solid 1-2 punch on their offensive line’s bookends in the form of Josh Conerly Jr. and Ajani Cornelius. Not many people 6’4 and 300+ pounds run a sub 5.0 40-yard dash, but Conerly Jr. sure does…and that will catch many eyes if he’s able to do the same in the 2025 NFL Draft Combine.
- Jonah Savaiinaea (Arizona) — Boasting perhaps the best pure pass protection in the draft, Arizona’s Jonah Savaiinaea’s run blocking being behind is the only reason he isn’t higher up on this list. When a pre-draft version of these rankings are released, Savaiinaea could find himself slotting right behind Will Campbell if his run protection improves in 2024.
- Josh Simmons (Ohio State)
- Earnest Greene III (Georgia)
- Ajani Cornelius (Oregon)
- Blake Miller (Clemson)
- Anthony Belton (North Carolina State)
