The 2024 NFL trade deadline is only one week away, The NFL trade deadline is at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 5 . We’ve already seen a few trades take place, including big acquisitions for The Jets (Davante Adams), Chiefs (DeAndre Hopkins), and Bills (Amari Cooper). What is next for the trade deadline?
Here Are Impact Defensive Players Who May Help A Contender
Andre Cisco, Safety, Jaguars
Best Fit: New York Jets
Injuries to Safety Chuck Clark, Cornerbacks D.J. Reed, Michael Carter II, and Defensive backs Tony Adams and Ashtyn Davis have created a big time need for an Impact Defensive back. Cisco is a heat seeking missile and ballhawk who lead the Jaguars last season with 4 interceptions. Cisco is also a perfect fit in new Jets head coach Jeff Ulbrich’s Defensive scheme.
Jonathan Jones, Cornerback, Patriots
Best Fit: Green Bay Packers
The Packers who finished second to last in the league last year in Interceptions can definitely use some veteran depth at corner. Jones fits in well as a man cover specialist. Jones still possesses a good closing burst and has excellent ball skills to disrupt at the catch point of a pass.
Budda Baker, Safety, Cardinals
Best Fit: Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys have struggled recently allowing 47 points to the Detroit Lions, 44 points to the New Orleans Saints and 28 to the Baltimore Ravens. Mike Zimmer’s squad could use some help in the secondary and the Cowboys are in a good spot possessing $21.7 Million in cap space. The Cowboys starting safeties have allowed an awful passer rating of over 118. The 6 time pro bowler who is the heart of the Cardinals defense with 67 tackles. Baker is a good aggressive safety with slot coverage ability.
Jadeveon Clowney, Outside Linebacker, Ravens
Best Fit: Green Bay Packers
The Packers rank 30th in pass rush win rate at just 22.2%. Clowney who is just rotting away on a bad Carolina Panthers team totaled 9.5 sacks last season for the Baltimore Ravens. Clowney will provide much needed rotational depth and pass rush for the Packers.
Josh Uche, Outside Linebacker, Patriots
Best Fit: Detroit Lions
With the devastating season ending injury to Aidan Hutchinson the Lions are in dire need of the speedy sub pass rusher in Uche. Uche has a decent pass rush win rate at 24.1%. Uche would give the Lions an athletic, speedy, and savvy edge rusher and off ball linebacker to help offset the hole left by Hutchinson.
Here Are Impact Offensive Players Who May Help A Contender
Cam Robinson, Offensive Tackle, Jaguars
Best Fit: Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings just lost Offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw to a season ending knee injury could use a replacement on the offensive line. Robinson, a solid veteran in the final year of a 3 year deal. Robinson is an elite pass blocker with a 81.7% pass block success rate.
Travis Etienne, Running back, Jaguars
Best Fit: Dallas Cowboys
Running back is the Cowboys biggest need. The Cowboys have plenty of cap space and I expect Jerry to go all in to try and save the season. Etienne offers big play potential and is a dual pass catching threat out of the backfield to help Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offensive rushing attack.
Dionte Johnson, Wide Receiver, Panthers
Best Fit: San Francisco 49ers
Johnson is the most likely receiver to be traded at this deadline due to Cooper Kupp being taken off the block. The Niners are in need at the wide receiver position with the season ending injury to Brandon Aiyuk. Johnson is good at winning off the line against the defense and is a strong route runner. Johnson is good at getting yards after the catch on slant routes making him a perfect fit in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.
It will be fun as always to see who lands where and makes an impact each trade deadline. I expect this trade deadline to be busy and impactful.
