The Pittsburg Maulers 2023 USFL schedule was dropped Tuesday, February 7th. If you want a general look at all team schedules, you can find that here, but for deets on the Maulers, keep reading.
Pittsburg Maulers USFL 2023 schedule:
The Pittsburg Mauler’s home stadium, the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, is in Canton, Ohio, this year. This seems like the best location for the team – hopefully, they will get some of that HOF energy going into the 2023 season.
Week 1: April 16th, 6:30 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – New Orleans Breakers
The New Orleans Breakers may face more of a challenge than they originally thought. The Maulers have recruited some well-known names and changed around their coaching personnel – their first week might be the right week to prove themselves this season.

Week 2: April 23rd, 12 PM EST in Canton, OH – New Jersey Generals
Pittsburg doesn’t like to go down without a fight – going against the North division winner could ignite the Maulers – named after the sledgehammer-wielding steelworkers in metal factories. New Jersey wouldn’t know what hit them.
Week 3: April 30th, 12 PM EST in Detroit, MI – Philadelphia Stars
The Maulers’ new head coach, Ray Horton, has a long history of defensive coaching positions in the NFL from 1994 to 2019. He looks forward to working with his son, Jarren Horton, the team’s defensive coordinator. Facing against an offensive head coach, Bart Andrus, will allow the defense to shine under its new leadership. Plus, the team only lost by one TD last year against the Stars early in the season; this is their shot.
Week 4: May 7th, 6:30 PM EST in Canton, OH – Birmingham Stallions
The Maulers have recently signed Reuben Foster, a former NFL linebacker with the 49ers and the Commanders. Foster has had some run-ins with the law, and a bad knee injury in 2019. Reuben has had many setbacks, and he has a lot to prove. He was also on the Washington team when the new head coach, Ray Horton, was a defensive backs coach. The two likely worked around each other and have experience working with a similar defensive scheme. This may create a strong relationship that’ll keep the Stallions on their hooves.

Week 5: May 13th, 12:30 PM EST in Detroit, MI – Michigan Panthers
Both the Michigan Panthers and the Pittsburg Maulers have new defensive-minded coaches in Mike Nolan and Ray Horton, respectively. Both teams did poorly last year and have something to prove; this will be a close game.
Week 6: May 20th, 12:30 PM EST in Memphis, TN – Memphis Showboats
The Showboats are a wild card. This year is their first season in the League. Although it’s an away game, the Maulers may be able to catch the Showboats by surprise with a Pittsburg-styled introduction to the USFL.
Week 7: May 27th, 9 PM EST in Canton, OH – Philadelphia Stars
During the 2nd half of the 2022 season, the Maulers lost against the Stars by just one point (17-16). The home-game advantage just may give the Maulers a fighting chance.

Week 8: June 3rd, 12 PM EST in Canton, OH – Houston Gamblers
The Pittsburg Maulers had one win last year, and it was against the Gamblers. If we had to take a gamble, this would be the Maulers’ best shot at success.
Week 9: June 10th, 12 PM EST in Canton, OH – Michigan Panthers
The Panthers were 3rd in the Northern division – they only had one more win than the Maulers. Playing on home soil gives Pittsburg the best chance to defeat their division rival. The Maulers will be looking to right the wrong and end up higher in the division standings this season.
Week 10: June 17th, 4 PM EST in Canton, OH – New Jersey Generals
The New Jersey Generals didn’t lose a game after week 1. They win, and they do so consistently each week. The Defensive Dream Team at Pittsburg will have a chance to solidify their relationships and fine-tune what is hopefully a winning strategy. Mike Riley, the General’s Head Coach of the Year last year, will remain their coach this year and will likely have a similar level of success this year. It’ll be a struggle for the Maulers’ to get a foothold.

The Pittsburg Maulers have much to prove to their fans and opponents. Leadership has brought in a new head coach, and talented players, so it’s clear they are willing to try new things and create a winning culture. If there’s anything Pittsburg has a reputation for, it’s their fighting spirit and commitment to hard work. The Maulers are a work-in-progress, but they won’t easily give up.
