The New Orleans Breakers 2023 USFL 2023 schedule was dropped on February 7th at 2 PM EST. On Tuesday, the best team was saved next to last in the League’s staggered release schedule. If you want a general look at all teams, you can find that here, but if you want to hear about the Breakers specifically, keep reading!

    New Orleans Breakers’ 2023 schedule

The Breakers’ home stadium will remain the Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama.

Week 1: April 16th, 6:30 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – Pittsburg Maulers

Home-field advantage will give the New Orleans Breakers’ a leg up. That and the fact that they beat the Maulers last year (26-16) will likely seal the deal this year as well. The Breakers’ will probably start strong in the 2023 season.

Week 2: April 22nd, 12:30 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – Houston Gamblers

The Gamblers were last in the southern division last year. They lost badly to the Breakers last season both times they played. The field advantage will be a benefit New Orleans won’t need. The chance that the Gamblers win is unlikely at best.

Week 3: April 29th, 12:30 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – Birmingham Stallions

Considering the Stallions were the Southern division winner last year, beating the Breakers soundly in the playoffs. They also beat the Breakers’ in both regular season games. The odds are not with the Breakers.

Week 4: May 7th, 3 PM EST in Canton, OH – New Jersey Generals

Last year, the Generals won with a wide birth against the Breakers (27-17). It’s also in the General’s home stadium… this could be a tough win for the Breakers.

Week 5: May 14th, 3 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – Memphis Showboats

As the newest team in the League, the Memphis Showboats are a bit of a wildcard.  Every other team has a USFL season under their belts. Plus, this show-off happens in Birmingham, the New Orleans Breakers’ home stadium. Those advantages feel like they stack up in the Breakers’ favor for a win.

Week 6: May 21st, 12 PM EST in Detroit, MI – Philadelphia Stars

The Stars won’t let the Breakers win easily. Last year, both teams were 2nd in their respective division and had the same win-loss record. The Breakers’ came away with a win last year (23-17), and although they rank similarly, New Orleans will likely take this win as well.

Week 7: May 27th, 4 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – Birmingham Stallions

Considering both teams have the home-field advantage (or no one does, depending on how you look at it), and the Breakers’ have brought on new coach John DeFilippo. Maybe, this year will be different; perhaps this year, the New Orleans Breakers’ can defeat the Stallions.

Week 8: June 4th, 4 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – Michigan Panthers

The Michigan Panthers are making significant coaching changes – former NFL defensive coach Mike Nolan is bringing a disciplined approach to the team. Nolan’s 33 years in the league will bode well for the team and could result in a culture change. Even with the Panthers’ rough season last year, there was only a 4-point difference (31-27) between the contenders. The home-field advantage for the Breakers’ will provide a benefit. It feels like the win could be anyone’s this game.

Week 9: June 10th, 3 PM EST in Memphis, TN – Memphis Showboats

Fool me once; shame on you. Fool me twice; shame on me. The Memphis Showboats may come for a revenge win on their home turf when they face the Breakers again.

Week 10: June 18th, 4 PM EST in Memphis, TN – Houston Gamblers

The Gamblers haven’t appeared to make significant changes in their coaching staff or locker room since last year. Sometimes failure can be the source of motivation to succeed in the future, but likely not in this case. The Breakers almost certainly will win this one as well.
