Marquise Brown
Marquise “Hollywood” Brown finds himself on the Arizona Cardinals to start 2022. This may have been one of the best landing sports for Brown as he is a prominent deep threat. Lamar Jackson is a good QB but his skillset doesn’t work as well with a WR like Marquise. Now Brown is going to reunite with his former College QB, Kyler Murray. Kyler provides much better arm talent than Lamar Jackson but he also has a much better deep ball specifically where Brown makes his money. Kyler ranked 3rd overall in deep ball statistics last year where as Lamar didn’t crack the top 10. The next reason why I believe Brown will be a value is due to DeAndre Hopkins suspension (six games). Brown is going to be the number one target in this offense presumably which will be a huge boost for six games. Even when Dhop comes back, there is still going to be a role for Brown. The Cardinals traded their first round pick this year to acquire him so he’s going to be incorporated in this offense. Brown has all of the chance to be a breakout player this year and he is great value at the 7.01.
Russell Gage
Russell Gage is one of my favorite sleepers at any position. Gage comes over from Atlanta to join Tom Brady and the Buc’s. Brady reached out Gage himself trying to recruit him to join the Buccaneer’s. When you get call from Tom Brady who is actively trying to get you to play with him 1) That’s very high praise 2) How can you turn that down. Brady clearly wanted Gage which means he isn’t just a depth piece for the Buccaneer’s. Gage is going to have a role and man the slot role for the Buc’s. If you know anything about Tom Brady, he loves targeting his slot WR’s. The Buc’s had the highest passing percentage in the NFL too at 66.46%. Chris Godwin still is recovering from his ACL injury and is not a lock to be playing by week 1. Gage will receive a bigger role if Godwin is forced to miss any time. Even when Godwin comes back, if Brady and Gage develop a rapport together Brady isn’t going to magically stop throwing to Gage. At the 9.12 Gage seems like a steal and a very worthy sleeper in 2022.
Christian Watson
Christian Watson was selected with the 34th overall pick by the Green Bay Packers this NFL draft. Watson comes out of North Dakota State where he played 4 seasons. Somewhat of a surprising pick but the Packers needed to draft a WR early after the departure of Davante Adams. Watson is a big body WR at 6’5 and has a real chance to contend for Aaron Rodgers number one target. The Packer’s WR room is nothing special as it consists of Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Sammy Watkins. Watson really didn’t have any eye popping stats inccollege but he’s going to have opportunity in Green Bay. Having Aaron Rodgers throw to you is all you need to have a breakout opportunity. And while it is not a guarantee Watson becomes Rodgers favorite target, you get to take a chance that he is in the 12th round. A very cheap price for huge potential playing in Green Bay with Rodgers.
