It is not a rare occurrence that on the best offenses you can often have teams with multiple Top 12 Fantasy Wide Receivers (WRs). Over the last four NFL seasons (2021-2018), this has happened in all four of them! In 2021 the LA Chargers had Keenan Allen and Mike Williams finish number 11 and 12 in PPR (point per reception). In 2020 it was DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett of the Seattle Seahawks finishing at 8 and 9 in PPR. Chris Godwin and Mike Evans did it in Half PPR during 2019, finishing as WR 2 and 12. In 2018 both the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers had WR duos in the PPR Top 12. The Vikings had Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs at 7 and 10, while the Steelers had Antonio Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster fini as number 5 and 8. This shows a trend of top teams producing massive fantasy value. So, I am going to tell you 12 teams that could have multiple Wide Receivers finish in the Top 12 Fantasy rankings for 2022.
Denver Broncos
The argument for why is simple. Two years ago, Quarterback (QB) Russell Wilson produced two Top 12 WRs. He now has Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy, another good WR duo that has the talent but is unproven. On a new Broncos team with a new head coach, Sutton and Jeudy could breakout into an incredible WR duo, both finishing Top 12.
Las Vegas Raiders
Davante Adams is amazing. He was just traded from the Packers to the Raiders. Adams will be joining Hunter Renfrow, who finished number 10 in PPR scoring for 2021. Davante will be reuniting with his college QB Derek Carr. The question shouldn’t be Adams, it should be whether Carr is going to support two WRs to bring Renfrow into the Top 12 again in 2022.
LA Chargers
This one is obvious. As mentioned earlier, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams finished as WR 11 and 12 in 2021. Their QB Justin Herbert is amazing and has shown ability to feed two WRs into the Top 12. The Chargers offense loves to throw the football and be aggressive with the talent on their roster. They often go for it on fourth down, resulting in high volume for key WRs that Herbert trusts. The Chargers are a good bet for having two WRs finish in the Top 12.
LA Rams
Cooper Kupp is phenomenal. We saw a historic season for Kupp, where he finished as WR1 last year. He was electric and was being constantly compared to other Top WRs of all-time who put up similar numbers. The question is if he can do it again. While it might not be historic again, I believe QB Matthew Stafford can propel Kupp to another great Fantasy finish. Allen Robinson is the one to worry about. He has talent, but just came off an awful season with the Bears. We’ve seen Stafford fuel Kupp to incredible heights last year, but that was with the second WR on the Rams injured in Week 10. Can Stafford bring two WRs with talent into the Top 12? In an offense as good as the LA Rams, I think he could!
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have a lot of questions. The biggest one being their QB Trey Lance. There have been both good and bad rumours about his time as the backup QB. I believe he has talent, but whether he can produce two Top 12 WRs in his first year starting is definitely a good question. On top of that WR Deebo Samuels number 2 finish in Half PPR was due to a lot of rushing work resulting in Touchdowns (TDs). WR Brandon Aiyuk finished number 36 in Half PPR scoring last year. The 49ers are not the most likely team to end up producing two Top 12 Fantasy WRs, but if their talent translates to production on the field it’s possible.
Minnesota Vikings
In 2018 the Vikings produced two Top 12 WRs in Adam Theilen and Stefon Diggs. Diggs is now on a different team and has been replaced by Justin Jefferson. Jefferson just finished as WR number 4 in 2021. With Theilen coming back from an injury, he should return to being one of QB Kirk Cousins’ favourite TD targets. With a new head coach there is a clear path to the Vikings producing two Top 12 WRs again.
Philadelphia Eagles
WRs DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown finished as the 30th and 32nd ranked WRs in 2021 PPR scoring. They are now on the same Eagles offense. Philadelphia has been a “run heavy” offense, that can transition towards pushing the ball downfield with aggressive passing. With the addition of AJ Brown, the Eagles now have two talented WRs. The question becomes whether QB Jalen Hurts can step up and become a more complete Quarterback in the NFL. I believe that all the pieces are in place for the Eagles to have two WRs in the Top 12, they just need the volume to come from their QB.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin both almost finished in the Top 12 last year. Unfortunately, Godwin got injured in Week 15. QB Tom Brady has shown the ability to make two WRs fantasy relevant and can do it again in 2022. With Tight End Rob Gronkowski retiring, there are Touchdowns and targets vacated. However, the Buccaneers added WRs Julio Jones and Russell Gage. The risk comes with whether Jones, Gage and Godwin will get enough targets to finish in the Top 12.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints have made large improvements to their WR core. WR Michael Thomas is returning from injury. They acquired WR Jarvis Landry and drafted rookie WR Chris Olave. Their QB Jameis Winston is returning from injury as well. In 2019, he produced two Top 12 fantasy WRs. In a strong Saints team with good offensive weapons and a new head coach, he could do it again.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have acquired Tyreek Hill. Last year he was WR 6 and (now teammate) Jaylen Waddle was WR 13. The talent of these two WRs is immense, as both are insanely fast and have shown the ability to make key plays. The question for the Dolphins is their QB Tua Tagovailoa. If he can step up and become one of the better QBs in the NFL, then with the talent of the WRs, the Dolphins can have two Top 12 Fantasy WRs in 2022.
Buffalo Bills
The excitement around the Buffalo Bills is high in 2022. They have a great QB, good coaching, and an overall strong roster. WR Stefon Diggs has shown his ability to be amazing before with the Vikings in 2018. The question is in their second WR Gabriel Davis. He has shown flashes of immense talent, and incredible TD upside. With the Bills losing two WRs from their roster last year, Davis is primed to be the second WR on a fantastic scoring offense. I believe the Bills can produce two Top 12 WRs in 2022.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals made it to the Super Bowl last year and almost won it. With their WR duo of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, they were able to win the AFC and dominate the football field. QB Joe Burrow is expected to be even better in 2022, as the Bengals figure out exactly how they want to run their offense. There is a profound amount of talent at QB and WR on the Bengals, and with an improved offensive line, nearly everyone has the Bengals as the most likely team to have two Top 12 WRs in 2022.
It is very hard to predict how WRs will finish in any Fantasy season. However, if you can get it right, you can win championships. These are 12 teams that could have multiple Wide Receivers finish in the Top 12 Fantasy rankings for 2022.
