The College Football Season is getting closer. With 10 days left until BYU kickoffs against South Florida let’s get to know some players on the roster for this upcoming season. This will give fans an idea of where these players have come from and what they could do for the cougars this season. I will do one every day there is a player with that number.
Sol-Jay Maiava-Peters
Today is Sol-Jay Maiava-Peters freshman quarterback 6-1 200 lbs. Before BYU he played for St John’s College High School in Washington D.C. As a sophomore, he had 1,557 yards for 15 touchdowns. He has been with BYU since 2020. Maiava-Peters was also recruited by Michigan, Oregon, Purdue, Virginia, Hawaii, Princeton, Utah, and Utah State. In 2020 he played in three games. Last season was a member of the scout team. This year he is hopefully not needed at quarterback.
Morgan Pyper
Today is Morgan Pyper junior linebacker 6-2 220 lbs. Before coming to BYU he played for Hillcrest High School and served his mission in Italy. 2018 he played running back for the scout team after being a mid season enter to the team. In 2019 he switched to linebacker and played in five games and had two tackles. In 2020 he played in 11 games and had seven tackles. Last season played in 11 games and had 29 tackles. This season he is listed as number three on the depth chart for Flash linebacker.

I’m attending the Pac10-12 OR Quackers Game.
For history reference’s Sake. There’s been NO BYU Football Game in OR since 2011 VS OSU Beavers.
