The Minnesota Vikings are going to have a busy offseason and rumors have been starting to swirl around star running back Dalvin Cook. Reports have stated that he isn’t willing to take a pay-cut, which could lead to the franchise trading him. If that does end up happening, it would be a move that shakes up the NFL.
Already this offseason, the Vikings have made the move to release longtime star linebacker Eric Kendricks. It has also been speculated that Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen could be on his way out of town in a cost-saving move.
Needless to say, Minnesota could be a very different looking team when the 2023 season opens up.

According to a report from Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News, a mystery team has come forward with a trade offer for Cook. He did not mention which team, but there are quite a few around the league that could use a running back like Cook.

Over the last few years, Cook has been one of the most feared running backs in the NFL. He has struggled with injury issues at times, but when he has been on the field he has been lethal.
During the 2022 season with the Vikings, Cook ended up carrying the football 264 times for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns. He also racked up 39 receptions for 295 yards and two touchdowns.

Those numbers show the kind of impact that Cook could have with any team that acquires him. It’s also very possible that he and Minnesota work things out and remain together for the 2023 season. However, trade offers can heat up quickly and result in a deal being made.
After an impressive regular season in 2022, the Vikings once again laid an egg in the playoffs. The franchise is tired of losing in the big games and could look to shake things up a bit this offseason. Trading Cook would be one big way to shake up the roster and bring some change.
Expect to continue hearing rumors involving the Vikings as the days move forward. The offseason is about to get wild and fans in Minnesota should buckle up. This isn’t a report that a deal is close at all, but there is no question that there will be some movement around the league and Minnesota could very well be heavily involved.
