While the Florida State Seminoles have struggled on the field, the recruiting department has struggled off the field as well.
The Seminoles dropped to 1-5 on the season after losing 29-13 against the Clemson Tigers in the starting debut for Brock Glenn. The quarterback recorded 228 yards and two touchdowns to go along with an interception in the loss. Previously, quarterback DJ Uiagalelei had been the starter and was largely responsible for the offensive issues through five games.
Off the field, the struggles have crawled into the recruiting world as players have begun to break their commitments to the Seminoles. Perhaps the biggest occurred today after four-star receiver Dylan McCutcheon committed to the Texas Longhorns.

McCutcheon, the 107th-ranked player in the 2025 class, had been a Seminoles commitment since July of this year. The flip in his pledge comes after plenty of success from the Longhorns this season both on and off the field. McCutcheon is a native of Lucas, Texas, which is roughly five hours away from the Texas Longhorns facilities.
Florida State Seminoles Commitment Daylan McCutcheon Flips to Texas
While the Seminoles have lost a massive commitment, the Longhorns have gained a truly special player on the offensive side of the football.
McCutcheon recorded 1,430 yards receiving along with 20 touchdowns last season, which truly put the receiver onto the map. McCutcheon is currently considered the 20th recruit in Texas and the 14th receiver in the 2025 recruiting class. The Texas Longhorns now have three of the top 20 wide receivers in the 2025 class committed to the program.
Much of the Florida State fanbase felt the move was something that came as a surprise, with McCutcheon quietly decommitting from the program this morning.

While the Longhorns fans and staff alike might be happy about the addition, the Florida State Seminoles fanbase feels this news could start a slew of future moves to come. McCutcheon may have deep ties to both his home state of Texas as well as the rest of the Longhorns receiving room in the 2025 class. However, he held onto his Florida State commitment for some time before announcing the flip.
